Gracie must have been tired of her adventure because she returned home a little after 11:30 PM. Her foster family woke up the sounds of her barking on the deck ready to be let inside. She is hungry and very happy to be home but otherwise unharmed. We will get her to the vet for a check up tomorrow. What an amazing end to to a stressful couple days!
Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and friends who have hung flyers and helped looked for Gracie over the past six days, especially both of her foster families Sonya and Chip and Kerry and Vivi who have been looking tirelessly since she disappeared. This little girl has quite the fan club now!
Every now and then, dogs get lost. This blog will continually update the Homeward Trails community when a pup is lost so we can bring them home quickly!

Gracie Spotted at 5:50 PM on Kirby Rd.
She was on Kirby Rd. near Chesterbrook Elementary School heading in the direction of the Chesterbrook Swim and Tennis Club. The person who called was able to describe her pretty well including the collar she is wearing. Kerry is on the way over...
Help Us Raise Money to Hire the Pet Tracker
I've set up a Razoo page to help us raise money to hire the professional pet tracker. Please help spread the word. The sooner we raise the money the sooner we can start tracking and the sooner we can get our girl home.

Possible Gracie Sighting This Morning at 7 AM
We got a call that Gracie was possibly sighted this morning around 7 AM on Kirby Rd. near Powhatan and Freedom. If it was her, she is moving closer to her foster home. We need to get more flyers up in that area. If anyone can help flyer this evening, please let me know rebeccag@homewardtrails.org.

No Sightings Today
Unfortunately, there have been no reported sightings of Gracie today. Volunteers were out early this morning in the area where Gracie was seen yesterday along the Pimmitt Run Trail. We also had volunteers out in the same area in the late afternoon and there were no signs of Gracie.
We need to figure out where she is spending most of her time so that we can set up feeding stations and a trap which will be our best hope of catching her.
We really need to bring in a professional pet tracker to help us pinpoint her location. We need to be able to provide food that she will find easily so that she stays in the area. We think she is spending more time in the woods so we are less likely to get sightings of her running around the neighborhood. The good news is that is a nice, safe area in the woods and she has access to the creek.
We have a number of areas that need to be hit with flyers, including:
Linway Terrace and the roads off Liway Terrace
Brookhaven
Ballentrae
Forest Villa
Potomac School Rd. and the school
Pimmitt Bend Park
Please contact me rebeccag@homewardtrails.org is you can help with flyers.
I'm working on setting up a fundraiser to raise money for the tracker but Razoo doesn't seem to be working today. Look for the link coming soon.

GRACIE - Lost Dog in McLean
Gracie, a very shy dog from the
Goochland hoarding case, escaped the yard at her foster home in McLean three days ago on June 4.
The last reporting sightings were in the Potomac Hills neighborhood in McLean in the cul-de-sac on Kellogg Dr. between 12-12:30 PM yesterday.
The last reporting sightings were in the Potomac Hills neighborhood in McLean in the cul-de-sac on Kellogg Dr. between 12-12:30 PM yesterday.
Here is how you can help us bring Gracie home:
we need to get more flyers up in Potomac Hills, and along Kirby Dr., Linwood Terrace and Bryant Branch Rd. There are some flyers, plastic sleeves and staple guns located at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center in Fairfax Station.
we can take flyers door to door in Potomac Hills, we can leave flyers on the doors.
we need people out looking for her and talking to people in the neighborhood, we've talked to many folks already and they are keeping an eye out for her but we need to figure out where she is spending most of her time so we can set up feeding stations and eventually a trap so we can catch her
if anyone can print more flyers that would be a big help
